Friends,
I did post a “Note” about this, but then I realized how few of you are probably engaged over there. You’re just too busy with your lives - love, work, and what not - so I’m going to disrupt your inbox and give you the low down. It won’t take long.
First, we’re closing poetry submissions at the end of September. Don’t worry, we have plenty to publish through the rest of the year, and there are still hundreds (yeah, you read that right) we haven’t even been able to open. Turns out, a lot of you like to write poetry. So, if you’re dying to send us something, do it now. We will reopen at the beginning of 2025 for a bit, but the windows will be shorter.
Second, on book review submissions, we’re also closing at the end of the September. As you may have noticed, we have not published any book reviews. So, we’re rethinking how we want to incorporate this aspect into our current publication. We will probably reopen only to pitches for reviews, or maybe this will be something for our past contributors. Who knows. If you have something you think we’d dig, send it now.
We are still open to prose submissions (fiction & nonfiction) always and forever. Our response times are unfortunately longer right now. That’s because we’ve become quite large, and a lot of people want to see their work in our ‘Stack. These are positive changes.
Anna has been working on some new merch stuff we hope to debut soon, and we’re rethinking some ways we can offer our PAIDS (whom we love, love, love because they make all of this possible) more and more. So, more changes are coming folks.
But for the rest of the year, we will be publishing a story or poem roughly every two weeks, maybe more if we’re feeling frisky. So, thank you for all your support and attention, and we’ll have a new story for you on Monday. And personally, I think it’s one of the best we’ve pubbed all year.
-The Wrong Turners.
